What Do We Believe? PDF Print E-mail

What a church believes at its core is paramount to a person's decision to partner with that church as a church member.  So, what are our core beliefs at Trinity Baptist?  We've listed them below.  We feel these beliefs are at the center of God's Word, and we believe that you as a fellow believer will agree.

Exalting, Evangelizing, Equipping

These words are at the core of Trinity. They express who we are and what we are about. We believe they best express the great commission given by our Lord in Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." This was the last command from the Lord Jesus to his disciples. He wanted them to Exalt the name of God through baptism. He wanted them to Evangelize all the nations. He also expected them to Equip by teaching them to observe all He has commanded us.

Exalt- Everything we do at Trinity must have as its chief end to bring glory and honor to God. He is our creator and sustainer and we want Him to be praised in our worship as well as our activity. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." We seek to exalt the Savior in all we do!

Evangelizing- God loves evangelism, in fact he was the first evangelist. He left heaven and came to earth, that we might have life. Through a variety of activities and events each year Trinity seeks to reach out and engage a lost world. Though challenging at times, we believe we share God's heart when we are evangelistic.

Equipping- Only half of the great commission is sharing the good news, the other half is teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. Many churches today have arranged their services only around reaching lost people. For that desire they should be commended. But unfortunately in the process they water down the message leaving them a mile wide and an inch deep. This does not fulfill the great commission of our Lord.

In summary you could say Trinity desires to be a church that is a mile wide, a mile deep, looking a mile up! Join us in the journey.
